Bringin' back the 70's

For my birthday my sister bought me this big floppy burgundy hat.  In my earlier post I said how much I wanted one of these and this one fits perfectly!

I missed a few important things...

First off, (and most importantly) I want to say I HAVE MISSED YOU!  Sorry I haven't responded to all your amazing messages or posted on my blog or kept up with your blogs for the past week.  I have been so busy with life :( I am going to get caught up on my e-mails this week and with your blogs!  Secondly, my birthday was this past Thursday!  Happy Late Birthday to me!  I wanted to share my birthday pictures with you...On Wednesday night, my boyfriend, Andrew and I went downtown to a nice restaurant called Rick Erwin's.  On my actually birthday, my family had an amazing dinner at my house for me.  We had filet mignon, cheese mash potatoes, cream spinach and homemade bread. YUM!

NIGHT TWO:

[the real birthday night]

each birthday my mom always sings, "It's your birthday, you can do what you want to! do what you want to! do what you want to!"  it is not a real birthday without my mom singing that to me-and has become a birthday tradition.

 

My boyfriend got me these gorgeous flowers!  In fact, we have been dating over a year and a half and this is the first time I have received flowers from him-pretty monumental.  My little sister gave me the top I am wearing for my birthday.  It is by Free People-she is more of a FP lover than I am!

this is not a joke.  the best cake you will ever taste!  if you live near a Fresh Market, I challenge you to go by the bakery and buy a bar of the tuxedo truffle cake because it will melt in your mouth-7 layers of heaven.  by the way, i have a major sweet tooth-can you tell?

The birthday celebrations aren't quite over.  My best girlfriends and I will be going to dinner and out downtown this Tuesday.  I am excited to share photos of our night with you!

I hope everyone is looking forward to a short week at school/work and celebrating Thanksgiving!  And who is excited for BLACK FRIDAY shopping?  I am.

a bright smile your way

I haven't done an outfit post in a while, but I have been so busy with school that some days I end up not even getting dressed [I shouldn't admit that!].  Yesterday, after a long day of school and school work I managed to get dressed.  I wore something that was comfortable and suited what I would be doing for the day.  Lately I've been rather grumpy with all my school, but yesterday I had a smile and was more positive!  It made my day better by having a better attitude.  I randomly started playing with some of the photos and was just having fun editing them in weird ways.  Enjoy!

Although I am getting annoyed about all the Kardashian drama & Fairy Tale Wedding stuff lately, I did buy this awesome nail polish at Wal-Mart from the Kardashian Kolor "Kollection".  This was in Kris Jenner's selection and is called My Empire...My Rules.  I love the hint of brown this grey polish has in it!  Perfect for fall!

 

I love my boots that I showed you in my earlier post.  They are super comfortable!

Told you I was in a good mood and couldn't stop smiling!!  Maybe it's because I got to see my boyfriend too :)

Yep.  The title of this post is true...  The first time I wore these shoes, I fell on the cement--luckily only my boyfriend and his friend saw.  I mean seriously?!  But I guess every fashionista has their moments.
