the leaves are falling

I have been bombarded with school work lately so yesterday Andrew and I went to his mountain/lake house in North Carolina to relax and get away for the evening.  Wow, the leaves were so pretty!  They were all different shades of red, orange, yellow, green and purple.  As we drove to the Fresh Market to get some food to cook for dinner, I kept wanting to stop to take pictures of so many different trees.

Photobucket
I was dying on my drive up there because I was trying to take pictures of all the different colors of trees on my iphone but was sure I would wreck if I didn't stop! hehe, at least I got one!
Photobucket
Now, I did have to ask Andrew to stop for this picture.  It was necessary-don't you think? SO PRETTY!

A weekend in Clemson

I spent this past weekend in Clemson.  On Friday, we went to my friend, Corey's 21st birthday party.  His parents rented out the top room at our [mine & andrew's] favorite sushi restaurant.  We had so much fun!!  On Saturday, we tailgated all day with our friends.  Here are some of my pictures from the weekend:

He was LOVIN' the saki shots.  This was bud light with a shot of saki.  He hit his head on the table and all the shots dropped in for everyone to start chugging.  Check out the picture below.

Day TWO:

How do best friends end up matching?  Of course we didn't know we were both wearing the same skirt, but I didn't bring an alternative gameday outfit and her house is miles away from the stadium so we made the best of it!

I had to post this picture.  Aren't her eyes so pretty?! I love blue eyes!  My boyfriend has some amazing baby blues too.

So in LOVE :)

Hope everyone else had a great weekend!!!

school days don't have to be so bad...

I am so fortunate to still have the same close-knit group of girl friends I had in high school.  It is so nice to have a group of girls who have grown up together and know so much about each other and have no drama.  The sad part is most all of my girl friends live in either Columbia, SC and go to the University of South Carolina or Clemson, SC and go to Clemson University.  It has been Clemson's fall break so I was glad to have my friends in town.  Yesterday, when I got out of school I met my friend, Chandler (who follows me on here!!) for lunch downtown Greenville at Takosushi.  You may wonder, "What kind of sushi is that?"  Well the place actually serves the BEST sushi AND mexican food.  Weird combination, but trust me it is delicious.  One of the tops on my to do list is to learn how to make sushi.  The restaurant was packed, so we sat at the bar and after watching them roll several rolls...I think I could do it!

[Me and Chandler eating! Iphones are hard to take clear pictures with when you turn the camera towards you...opps]

[I'm pretty sure the lady on the end making sushi enjoyed listening to our entire conversation throughout lunch! hehe]

[This bear was delicious!]

[Chandler's food.  I started eating mine before I could even take a picture!]

[After lunch, we went to Mod Studio Salon where my older sister, Kayla, is a hair stylist.  Chandler had an appointment to get her hair done so I said hello for a little while & hung out.  If you live around Greenville and are looking for a stylist, Kayla is AMAZING!  She does my hair :)]

[On a random note, this is my adobe illustrator project I am working on.  We were assigned to illustrate a page from a children's book so I choose the Wild Thornberrys!  This is for my only class I actually enjoy-computer graphics.]

Hope everyone is having a Happy Thursday!

true life: i've fallen in these shoes

Yep.  The title of this post is true...  The first time I wore these shoes, I fell on the cement--luckily only my boyfriend and his friend saw.  I mean seriously?!  But I guess every fashionista has their moments.

obsessed with all things apple

You know what they say.... "once you go mac, you will never go back!"  & that is true!  Once I started working on a macbook, I thought to myself, "how did I ever use a pc?!"  (I'm not hating on all you PC lovers/users) but apple products are truly reliable.  Me being a computer junky--I needed something that wouldn't quit on me.  Once, Verizon FINALLY got the iphone I had my hands on it & could never switch to any other phone.  I'm always looking for new, exciting apps.  It's not always easy to find apps because there are so many out there.  I found it's best to ask friends what they use...so I want to share with you my favorite iphone apps!  Oh, and let's not forget...THANK YOU STEVE JOBS!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

So, I am NOT a big fan of pink--I hardly own anything pink.  With this month being breast cancer awareness month, I started looking at different pink clothing and actually found a lot that I love!  Most of it is mixed with other colors, but the main part is pink.  Pink looks pretty in tribal prints, jewels, leather, make-up, hats, jewelry, bras and so much more!!  Do you wear pink?

Must Have This Fall!

A Warm Delight

Need a delicious recipe on these cold days to warm you up?  I always look recipes up on allrecipes.com and find the best ones!  They have an iphone app which is very convenient!  I usually alternate the recipes a little to my liking.  The recipe I'm about to share is based off of this one.

The Best Potato Soup Ever

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup diced onions
3-4 cups peeled and diced potatoes
2 1/2-3 cups chicken broth
1 cup heavy whipping cream
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 teaspoon dried dill weed
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper

Directions:
1. In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter.  Cook onion in butter until softened.
2.  Stir in potatoes and broth.  Bring to a boil, then cover, reduce heat and simmer 15-20 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
3.  Remove pan from heat and use a fork to mash the potatoes leaving a few chucks for texture.  Pour mixture into a pot and return to medium heat.  Stir in the cream, cheese, dill, pepper, salt and cayenne.  Bring to a low boil and cook, stirring until thickened.
4.  Serve in a bread bowl or with some delicious mountain bread!  Enjoy!

(Recipe makes enough for about 4-5 people so you may want to double it if you have a larger group!)
